I have no words to describe this. this is easily one of the best of 2022 in animation, the aesthetic, the designs, the animation, the attention of detail, it's dark but charming and it reminds me a lot of another del Toro movie Pan's Labyrinth more for the setting (Mussolini's Italy) and the story it's a whole new take of the classic it's pretty reflexive, brave in showing religion and politics and doesn't follow any conventionalities. this year we got three Pinocchio movies, from those three this is the only good one.

Don't watch Disney's Pinocchio remake, watch this one instead.
