As for Azrael: he an Interesting story regarding Batman In the 90's. How Denny O'Neal allowed his existence just to proved that making Batman more like the trends of that time was not only unnecessary, it just doesn't work. however he didn't stayed as just a commentary of the state of the Industrie, he also has his search of identity and the challenges of his mission that makes him Interesting.

Azrael caught my eye as a kid purely for surface-level appeal; I thought his design was badass and that was all I needed. A couple years and further appreciation for good storytelling really made Knightfall (and the trilogy it hails from) a huge inspiration for me. Especially Azrael’s nature as another reflection of Batman—deeply tortured yet just motivated.
