What do you perceive Scott Pilgrim's story as? Because I agree with almost everything you said about why the Scott Pilgrim anime doesnt represent Scott Pilgrim the best, so I'd love to know what your thoughts on the og Scott Pilgrim story are.

Simply put, it's a story about personal growth, ending a relationship is not the end of the world and there's more people out there. learn to end the circle in both sides. the OG story trust a lot in the reader to understand that there's a problem with the main character but it also tries to develop the character. the anime does this, but in a very dumb and poorly develop way and it's a shame because the evolution the exes and Ramona is pretty good.
When comes to anime, actually their artstyle is not 100% anime, it's just a normal cartoon artstyle, since some cartoon has almost the same artstyle as scott pilgrim

That seems pretty consistent with what I have heard. People still don't like the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie because of how they condensed everything from the comics. As for the show... a lot of people were upset but how they did the bait and switch. I haven't touched it myself but I don't have any intent on seeing it anytime soon. The whole point to the story of Scott Pilgrim is how irredeemable of an asshole he is. His toxic behavior and constant pursuit of Ramona who is almost like his broken half of a mirror. That is my understanding at least from when I watched the movie back in the day. I'm sure there's more depth and a further examination in the comics. But the story isn't for me I don't think. At the same time, I don't think Scott Pilgrim as a brand can even pull off a re-telling like this. TMNT could but, it is good to hear there were elements you did like but still having some issues. Could you go a bit further into what those were?
