Man... i really don't like the new Scott Pilgrim show.
It's just a worst version of the story made for people who don't like Scott Pilgrim for the wrong reasons. I hate it? no. i really liked how the managed Ramona's exes, that evolution was pretty nice, and the visuals, the fighting scenes, are top notch. i didn't expected Weird Al and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (the Cornetto Trilogy mains), i know Wright is the producer but still, nice.
But, if i have something to say about the whole show:
Honestly, i prefer Wright's movie now and we still have the comics. yet, people still don't understand what Scott Pilgrim is about and that's sad.
The best thing the show did was Wallace, best fucking character. untouchable.

That seems pretty consistent with what I have heard. People still don't like the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie because of how they condensed everything from the comics. As for the show... a lot of people were upset but how they did the bait and switch. I haven't touched it myself but I don't have any intent on seeing it anytime soon. The whole point to the story of Scott Pilgrim is how irredeemable of an asshole he is. His toxic behavior and constant pursuit of Ramona who is almost like his broken half of a mirror. That is my understanding at least from when I watched the movie back in the day. I'm sure there's more depth and a further examination in the comics. But the story isn't for me I don't think. At the same time, I don't think Scott Pilgrim as a brand can even pull off a re-telling like this. TMNT could but, it is good to hear there were elements you did like but still having some issues. Could you go a bit further into what those were?
